On April 28th 2006 Amanda Waring
with the Greater london Forum for Older people are presenting a
conference focusing on the attitude of those who care for and
support older people.The event will be held at Congress house, 23
great Russell Street. london WC1 at 1.15- 3.30.
Amanda's powerful ten minute film
WHAT DO YOU SEE? starring Virginia Mckenna will be debated by a
large audience of professionals and other bodies to promote seeing
older people in a new light. Amanda's powerful film will illustrate
the key message of the day that we must see older people as
individuals rather than as part of a category and help ensure a
kinder and more compassionate future for us all.
CLAIRE RAYNOR will chair the
debate and on the panel apart from Amanda will be VIRGINIA
MCKENNA
MARGARET HAYWOOD, the undercover
nurse who exposed abuse and neglect on BBC Panorama,
PENNY BANKS - senior fellow of
the Kings fund
MARTIN GREEN- chief executive of
english community care association
