Amanda Waring has starred as Gigi in the acclaimed West End
Musical playing over 500 perfs.and sang at the Royal Variety show
for the Queen. She has also played the lead in the musicals It them
and us, (canal cafe London) From Here to Maternity ( Westcliffe
theatre and Orange Tree theatre) Love off the Shelf ( Harrogate and
the Nuffield Southampton).
Other leading roles include Cathy in Wuthering Heights and the
title role in Mary Rose at Greenwich and Watford, and in Hold on
Hortense (Croydon) She opened Shakespeare's Globe Theatre playing
Juliet and Celia opposite Sam West'ca and has twice played Ophelia
in world tours of Hamlet.
Amanda starred at Chichester festival theatre in Getting Married
and an Ideal Husband, other regional work includes The Prime of
Miss Jean Brodie, (Manchester, Royal Exchange),Bye Bye Blues (
Orange Tree) Not about Heroes (Nottingham), Illusions (Croydon) The
Education of Little Tree,( Orange tree, and Bahamas) Love after
Lunch, Talley'd5s Folly (Turtle Key arts theatre) Confusions (Penny
Royal).
Amanda has experienced huge success with World and Uk tours of The
Gift of Christmas, Life Love and Laughter, Twentieth century revue,
Funny Valentines, Now We are Sixty- all of which Amanda also
devised and directed starring alongside Virginia Mckenna, Hugh
Bonneville, Robert Powell, and her parents Dorothy Tutin and Derek
Waring.
Amanda's one woman show For the Love of Chocolate premiered at the
Edinburgh festival (Assembly rooms) and has been critically
acclaimed wherever it's been performed including runs at the Mill
studio Guilford, Portsmouth arts centre, Putney Arts Centre and
sell out performances at the Jermyn Street theatre in London. The
show can be seen again at Jermyn Street theatre from Feb 6
Leading roles on television include ; Natalia Gordon in Tuckers
Luck, Vera in A Month in the Country, Esther in Sherlock Holmes,
Sophie in Outside Edge, Mrs Moore in Clarissa, Anna In Shades of
Darkness, Sally in Farewell Fernando. Other guest roles in
Casualty, All Creatures Great and Small, The Ruth Rendell
Mysteries.
Film roles include Amabel in Fairy Story, Jessica in Eat yourself
Slim. Amanda was the voice of the Princess in the Oscar shortlisted
animated feature The Princess and the Pea.
Radio; leading roles in Death on the Nile, One Two Buckle My Shoe,
